Chronicle of Notably Odd/Quirky/Troubling Linocut Prints I've Found on Etsy, Part 1

I have bought a lot of stuff from Etsy. I'm not saying that to make money from them, and anyway it would never make a dent in my personal Etsy economy. It is the perfect combination of consumerism and quirkiness, with never-ending updates and changes in stock. Plus it's a lot of fun to think about each of the store's owners and how they formed their peculiar interests.

I considered making Etsy finds a separate blog, since a) I've got some time on my hands and b) it doesn't 100% dovetail with lesbian reproduction, but I think there's actually quite a bit of overlap between my interests in

  • smashing the patriarchy
  • supporting witchery
  • eating the rich

where our non-traditional family and weird art meet.

Why, yes, I do see the irony in saying "eat the rich" in the same post as "yay, consumerism," but I am a flawed human being.

Linocuts are one of my favorite types of art, and I have theorized that it's an art form that encourages weirdness. I don't actual know anyone who does this art, so I welcome any comments/info. Are linocut artists weirder than other artists?

(I have bought a great deal of weird art, so I'm not just mocking; I'm admiring and investing. But sometimes mocking.)

Recent findings include:

ASTROKITTY? Yes, please. I would also welcome comments about why I've been seeing so much cat-astronaut art recently.

It's not the wings; it's the head-piece I really like.

This is a perfect example of how weird art and leftist politics belong together. Also, indeed, fuck Trump.

Here is one I'd be tempted to buy, but the kiddo whose hypothetical existence launched a blog (and approximately $9845098345345) has an objection to snails.

Animals in clothing, and specifically formalwear, is one of my verrrrry favorite genres of Etsy art. It is the genre that resulted in Heather banishing my art to a less-public room.
